Just purchased a 1975 Beretta s58s trap gun. 30" barrels, mod and full. Tight action and lever still out to the right. I guess it was the model before the 680. Have any of you shot OT with this gun; or even a 680? Also, how different is the s58s to the early, silver 682's?

Meanwhile, are longer forcing cones really necessary? Where is the evidence that they produce better patterns; particularly as the shot is protected by a wad as it leaves the chamber? What about tubes larger than 18.4mm; how are the larger bores supposed to improve patterns and reduce recoil in 24gram loads? I'm not certain that I can tell the difference when using the same loads...

What about gun balance? My s58s weighs in at 8 lbs and is, pretty much, balancing on the hinge pin. If anything; it's a tad barrel heavy. Thoughts on gun weight and balance?
