Technique
Over the years, I've heard from several very good shots about technique.  Dan Carlisle says to "make a quick start with slow hands".  Bret Erickson has said that a good trap shot starts in the ankles.  And virtually everybody says the game is "in the eyes".  What is the most helpful thing you've ever been told about trapshooting technique?

Re: Technique
I'm a firm believer in the fact that you can't move the gun any faster than you can react to seeing the picture come together and be successful. That and "quick isn't fast, smooth is fast". Maxey

Re: Technique
Many people, myself included, are deathly afraid of letting a wide angle target out of our sight as we begin our swing - with the result that we move the gun much faster than we should as we try to get visual lock on it.  Trusting that we'll acquire it as we swing more slowly is difficult.
