Senior Open 2009
Greetings everyone! - update on the progress on the 3rd Annual Senior Open for International Trap - 2009: this year's event will be held at Gator Skeet and Trap in Gainesville FL the weekend of 23 - 25 October 2009. Two bunkers should accommodate all Senior (must turn 45 years old in 2009) bunker shooters who want to attend. Thumbnail sketch of the program: Thursday - open practice; Friday - 100 target preliminary event; Sat - 50 targets for the Senior Open in the morning; 50 bird special event (not part of Senior Open) Sat afternoon; Sunday - 75 targets + three Class Finals (Euro Classes A, B & C). Note: you do not need to be a member of USAS to participate, but must be a member to vie for the National Records (125 targets), which were set at the 2007 event and subsequently broken at the 2008 event. This year we will include a random draw for a 3 Person Euro Team event (one shooter per Euro Class A, B & C will make up each team) included in the basic entry fee. Finally, all USAS members entered will compete for a free entry fee to the 2010 USAS National Trap Championships via a handicap system. More details to follow. Tom Baber and crew will post info at http://www.gatorskeetandtrap.com/Shoot-dates.html as the program is finalized. Electronic web based entry sign-up will be available in the near future. Guy Avedisian is the reigning champion from both 2007 & 8, and will have the home field advantage this year. Please make plans to attend to and do your part to help us crown a new champion this in 2009! Hope to see you there! V/R Maxey

Re: Senior Open 2009

Good luck to all of you attending the Senior Open in Gainsville, FL.; which is coming up soon.

With San Diego likely remaining closed, have any clubs (Texas/California?) considered putting on a shoot/shoots to replace the Golden Bear and Maple Leaf in early 2010?

Re: Senior Open 2009
Yes... Gator Skeet and Trap will Host the Southeast Regional Bunker shoot in Late February. We are still trying to finalize dates. We are waiting to see what happens with the Spring Selection match before finalizing the date. We had an outstanding shoot this past February. 46 Shooters. Hopefully we will be able to do the same in 2010. Tom
