Gun selection for Olympic trap, and several slips.
I only shoot Continental and Olympic and I gotta change my gun. I was thinking of either a Perazzi MX 2000, a Perazzi MX 2005, a Beretta 682 Gold E X Trap, a Beretta DT Trident X Trap, or maybe a Caesar Guerini Magnus Trap. Any suggestions? I got a few concerns though. First off, the Beretta US website got it all mixed up. The pictures displayed don't match the models' names. I tried to let them know and they totally ignored my email. For instance, they title "682 Gold E Trap Combo" and attached we see the pic of a 682 Gold E X Trap. They look very different and come with different features. The X version has an adjustable Monte Carlo stock, and also comes with Optima Barrels and a selective trigger. Also it weighs quite a lot more. From 8 to 8.8 lbs. They apparently got the weights wrong too, since they state the regular Gold E version is 8.8, and it's actually 8. And the ribs are different, 10 flat in one version and 10x8 progressive tapered the other. The same drama goes with the DT Trident. They call it "DT Trident" but they show a "DT X Trident". Again, they're very different. The regular Trident has International, whereas the X Trident comes with adj Monte Carlo. Also, the X features Optima Barrels and the same with the weigh, the trigger and the ribs. MY QUESTION IS if I order the X version, will I get what they show in the pic or what they describe in the title? If you guys wanna get it right, you gotta log in to the European Beretta website. Ours is all fucked up. Also, I noticed the debate about high vs low ribs. But if you got an adjustable rib with adj stock , you actually can set up the POI you wish to fit your own style right? In my view, even low trajectory clays are slightly climbing for the most part when you shoot. So even if you have a high POI , it might work for you if you don't cover the target with the muzzle. Instead just caress the bottom with the sight. It's just my opinion, I'm not sure. I've heard as many different theories as shooters I came across with.
